3D paper acquarium

I saw this idea on the Internet and fell in love with it, so we made our version with my 5 year old son. I downloaded colouring sheets of fish from websites and he selected the ones he liked. I did all the cutting and gluing and let him paint the fish alone.

What you will need:
 - an empty carboard box (we used diaper box)
 - coloured paper (if possible, paper with sand and water motivs)
 - drawings of different fish and water plants on white paper
 - colour paint
 - strings
 - cellotape, glue
 - sea shells

How to prepare:
1. Cut the cardboard box so that it remains open at one side. We left the bottom of the acquarium wider than the top and left some on the side as well.
2. Cover the inside of the box with the coloured papers. Cover the bottom with the paper with sand motiv, and cover the back, the sides and the top with blue paper. Glue them strongly to the box.
3. Paint the fish and some plants with your kid and then cut the shapes.
4. Glue the plants to the bottom of the acquarium.
5. Fix the fish on a string. Cut tiny holes on the top of the box and draw the end of the string through it. Fix it with cellotape on the outside of the acquarium.
6. Glue some real sea shells on the "sand".
